a bit about me:
I am a satellite imagery product management professional currently based in the Greater Los Angeles area, but open to relocation. Currently, I am Product Manager specializing in analytics-based satellite imagery products. I love what I do at BlackSky and I am passionate about unlocking the power of satellite imagery through the development and productization of advanced analytics and machine learning.
I started my career as a GIS engineer at a startup, working in research and development creating geospatial offerings from scratch. I created GIS data pipelines in python to process terabytes of satellite and aerial imagery in near real time. I worked with software developers, machine learning engineers, data scientists, and industry experts to create geospatial solutions for the Defense, emergency management, precision agriculture, property development, and conservation industries. I managed the organization's spatial data libraries and assisted in creating large machine learning training datasets. I performed GIS analysis using proprietary tools like ENVI and ArcGIS as well as open source solutions such as QGIS, SNAP, and more. I can code at a functional scripting level in Python and C++. I am able to extend the capabilities of ArcGIS and other GIS software through programming. I can also perform statistical analysis and data visualization functions in R.
In addition to my technical experience, I also have experience building roadmaps, leading development teams, and shipping products as a product manager. I was Slingshot Aerospace's first product manager, and I successfully launched several tools and applications, including Slingshot Earth, Earth Portal, and 211LA's FoodFinder web application (https://foodfinder.211la.org/). At BlackSky, I was the lead product manager for our Esri integrations, helming the effort from inception to launch and beyond. My team built a first of its kind application that allows user to task satellites from within an Esri environment and transfer imagery directly to ArcGIS Online. I managed teams from three different organizations to build one of the most heavily integrated systems ever created by an Esri partner BlackSky Tasking for ArcGIS Online.
I'm customer focused and I love the challenge of discovering customer pain points and finding ways to solve them. I'm a team player and I have strong communication skills. I am a problem solver, so I know how to find an answer when I encounter challenges, and I love to learn.
